SEWAGE PONDS

This is 4 km south of the CBD and probably the most well-known bird-watching site close to Alice Springs.

Access is no longer unrestricted as it has been for the last 40 years or so. Details on how to get access are in Birdwatchers Map & Guide on the Power Water website.

Travel south through the Gap, that is toward the airport. 1.2 km south of Tom Brown Roundabout turn right into Commonage Road. 0.4 km on turn left into an unsealed lane. This is just before the large gates across the road, and a second 30 km/h sign. Park at the end of the lane, and walk through a pedestrian gate next to the large gates at the end of the road.
